At times the business of aviation appears as a perilous dance with the devil when tragedy strikes so close to home and takes a beloved member of the family. Long-time Aviat pilot and aviation icon Blake Chapman was lost in an accident April 7th while returning from the Sun N’ Fun Air show. To all that met Blake, his character was as unique as it was genuine and punctuated with his thunderous voice as he made no apologies for who was and what he believed—we loved him immediately.
The Spirit of Aviation will always echo his presence and he will always be remembered and revered by those who knew him—Clear skies and tailwinds ahead my friend!
